Comments : What do you think about this photo?

I dont think this decision is a Pissu Wedak. This facility was missused by Duty Free brokers and other elements to deprive country of millions of legitimate tax revenue.

Dear Mangala,
You are corect, but if they completly blocking this it is Pissu.
Most of the people are working in Abrod and after 2 or 4 years when they are comming back they need to buy lots of things.

Aredy that people are out of family to make money and if the gov. is part of there money, it is wrong.

It should have been amended as follows:
* All CRT Televisions, computers screens -
* All Plasma televisions - both consume more power
* All air-conditioning except Inverter type
* Dishwashers -with more than 20l water consumption
* Fully automatic washing machines with over 150l water consumption per full cycle
* Four burner cookers with oven - except gas (all electric ovens included)
* All Deep freezers

It is obvious that the people who are behind this directive has not consulted engineers or have not done proper research on energy, water saving abilities while providing opportunities to the people who wanted to change their life style with hard earned money.

It would have been appropriate that if the DUTY FREE vendors give the serial numbers of the goods sold on a weekly basis to CUSTOMS so when the Flying Squad raids an establishment, they can identify the crooks and charge them with fraud.

There are better methods to crack down on illegal activity than deprive of the community.

Sri Lankan political idiots another foolish decision.

I went back to SL last December after about 2 yrs of my work in UK. I wanted to buy a dish washer and 4 burner cooker with electric oven (stainless steel). I was spent about 3 hrs in Katunayaka airport Dury free shopping compeex looking for these 2, I couldn't find any... :(. Then I thought next time I'll buy what ever I need from UK and ship next time, even I'm not getting an internatioanl warranty. I guess I can't do this now bcos of this stupid decision.

I wonder how Sri Lanka will develop with this sort of stupid things.

No wonder most educated people migrate to other developed countries. It's sad to see that one day Sri Lanka will become a paradise of mad politicions.
